My group and I felt that we didn’t need to branch out towards other actors in order to portray the two roles present in the film. We ended up choosing Dominick Falcon to play the frightened man in his home, and Jair DeFreitas as the masked intruder. This would allow me to be the one filming while my groupmates perform. Now for some reasons why both of them were chosen to play their specific roles.
“Dominick” – Dominick Falcon (Protagonist)
- Dominick was chosen to play our protagonist, and the reason being that he has experience in modeling. He is more accustom to being on camera, which allows him to be more fluent in his acting and feel more confident in his executions. The other reason is that he has a very friendly demeanor doesn’t appear prepared to deal with the situation presented to him. His relatively small physique proved fitting for the rather submissive role Dominick had to play.
“The Masked Man” – Jair DeFreitas (Antagonist)
- The reasons we chose Jair to be our antagonist was his naturally darker features. He has darker hair and was wearing all black clothing. This automatically counters Dominick’s bleach blonde hair and much lighter features. Jair is also significantly taller than Dominick, and since he is taller, he could be easily intimidated by his stature. The mask on his face also proved to be very intimidating and overall fulfilled the dominant role that Jair had to play for the film.
