My group members and I have gathered together today in order to brainstorm ideas for our AICE exam. We’ve come up with several ideas that range from comedic to romantic, but we came to the final verdict that I will begin to explain.
The basic premise of our film is to create a horror/thriller story that closely follows a frightened individual who investigates a peculiar figure outside his home. As the viewer inches towards the climax of the intro, the character creepily walks towards the backyard, where the figure had appeared. The character then proceeds outside, where he obliviously tries to scope out the area. In the background, the figure that appeared earlier was able to walk directly into the character’s house without him knowing. For the closing scene, the character walks back into the house and turns off the lights; unaware of what awaits him when he turns his back.
The idea behind this introduction was inspired by several short horror films such as the award winning, “Tuck Me In”, that utilizes a clever idea and executes it in an incredibly short period of time. This intro was also intended to appeal to audiences who enjoy suspenseful sequences, along with a creepy twist. My group members decided to not include loud noises in the final scene in order to make the unfolding of events more meaningful and less annoying.
